Extremely popular when it was released, I jumped on the “Casioak” bandwagon as well, absolutely loving the super-stealthy “triple-black” look and overall design, the octagonal case being very distinctive, yet at the same time, understated, especially for a G-Shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case size is quite slim, making this suitable for more than just casual outings, and it works well with long sleeves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The backlight isn’t great, and neither is the lume on the hands; and a quick glance probably won’t be enough to tell the time. The digital display is very tiny. It’s all a trade-off between “cool factor” and functionality, with the obvious bias towards style – though it does have all the standard features expected of a G-Shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall feel and quality of the watch is high, putting it in a different class than the average tool-watch status of a G-Shock. Considering it’s a “future classic”, it’s a great watch to have in the collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
